An annual celebration of the leadership, scholarship, and impact of Doctor of Nursing Practice prepared nurses. Join the sessions, share your story, and help design the future of doctoral nursing practice.
National DNP Week is an annual celebration recognizing the leadership, innovation, scholarship, and impact of Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) prepared nurses. Founded by Dr. Danielle K. McCamey, the week runs every year from October 19 through October 25.
The week opens with National DNPs of Color Day and closes on October 25, the date that commemorates the 2004 approval of the DNP as the terminal practice degree in nursing.
This year's theme, Designing the Future: DNPs Leading Systems, Science, and Social Change, calls on DNP leaders to celebrate the past, amplify the present, and design what comes next for doctoral nursing practice.
Sessions run throughout the week and explore how DNP prepared nurses lead clinical transformation, educate tomorrow's leaders, drive innovation, influence change, and build healthier communities. Every session is virtual and at no cost. Registration is open now on Eventbrite.
Seventeen DNP leaders present across the week on clinical transformation, education, innovation, health equity, entrepreneurship, and AI. Sessions run weeknights beginning at 8:30 PM ET, with a closing session Sunday, October 25 at 11:30 AM ET. Additional sessions will be added as the schedule is finalized. Register now to save your place.

Proclamation Campaign
Help National DNP Week Reach All 50 States
Submit a proclamation request to your governor, mayor, county executive, local government, university, health system, or organization recognizing October 19–25, 2026, as National DNP Week.
Claim your state first. Check the tracker below. If your state is open, claim it with the sign-up form so only one governor's request goes in per state.
Customize the bracketed fields if required by the issuing organization.
Submit it through your governor's, mayor's, county executive's, university's, or organization's proclamation or recognition process.
Share your proclamation once approved, tag National DNP Week, and tell us through the form so we can light up your state.
Governors' offices ask for one request per state, so please claim before submitting. Mayors, county executives, universities, and health systems each issue their own proclamations, so several people in the same state can pursue those at once.
